
Garlic is one of the most used ingredients in my family. I almost cook it in all my dinner dishes. How about you? If you cook from scratch, I bet you are the same. But did you know that you can grow it yourself? It’s so easy. Let me explain how to grow garlic in the fall.
A long time ago, I learned from a wonderful farmer, named Marie-Andrée, how to grow this amazing plant and how to care for it. You would not believe the beautiful secret that she gave me: “You don’t have to care for it.” This plant is just incredible. You get a couple of bulbs in the fall. You divide them and plant them. Leave them in the ground for winter and spring. And Voilà! In June, you get prime perfect homegrown bulbs and the flavor is just divine. Garlic is also known herbal medicine and a wonderful spice. If you have a little space in your garden, or even in your flower beds, now is the time to plant your bulbs. And now you know how to grow garlic plants in the fall.

How to grow garlic?

Materials
- Get garlic bulbs from your nursery, your favorite farmers market. Even my butchers have local grown bulb right now!
Tools
- A shovel and a bucket will do it!
Instructions
- Select 10-12 large garlic bulb from a nursery or your favorite farmers market
- Break apart cloves from the bulb and keep the papery husk on each individual clove.
- Plant cloves 6 inches apart and 2 inches deep (with the pointy side up).
- Plant in rows spaced around 10 inches apart.
- Give it a good soak and done!
