Calendula is a beautiful, easily accessible flower packed with wound healing, antifungal, and skin hydration properties that can benefit all your family members and furry friends. Her Latin name is Calendula officinalis L. in America, she is often called pot marigold. I learned recently that it is a vulnerary plant that heals wounds by promoting cell repair. The calendula petals will also fight fungus. It is the perfect herb to put in a salve to heal your skin. In my home, we call it the “magic cream” because it works for all the little bruises and bumps. It is also perfect for people with sensitive skin. Or, for your baby’s bump, these diaper rashes will disappear with the healing properties of this natural calendula salve recipe.
I absolutely love this calendula salve as a natural remedy that is suitable for all skin types and skin conditions. It is not only easy and cost-effective, but it also utilizes all-natural ingredients. The only challenging aspect of the recipe is obtaining the calendula oil, which can be either homemade or purchased from Mountain Rose Herbs. Once you have the calendula oil, the recipe is quick and easy to prepare. If you’re interested in making your calendula oil, here’s the link with the detailed instructions.

Just sow the seeds directly in your flower bed, and the flowers reseed themself in the garden without human intervention. I always have a patch of beautiful pink, yellow, and red calendula ready to be turned into a smooth calendula salve. You can sow your seeds in the spring, and you will have a beautiful flower garden this summer. If you don’t have the time or the space, there is a convenient link where you can find dried calendula flowers online at my favorite herbal store: The Mountain Rose Herbs store.

What Are The Possible Side Effects Of Calendula?
If you are allergic to flowers of the sunflower family, such as sunflowers, marigolds, or daisies, chances are that you could develop an allergic reaction. Do a patch test to verify if you are allergic to the calendula salve. It can be best for you to avoid calendula and its preparations to avoid a hypersensitivity reaction.

We hope it will inspire others to embrace sustainable practices and cherish the beauty of the natural world. By spreading kindness and my passion for the earth, I hope to show that living in harmony with nature is not only possible but deeply rewarding.
Giving credit to the herbalists
I want to clarify the information I am sharing; please understand that I am a plant lover, not an herbalist. My herb garden is full of plants, herbs, and trees that I use as my organic ingredients, and my findings are based on my research and my family’s experiments. I am now studying online at Flora Medicina to sharpen my knowledge of herb plants. But I am a beginner. I try to gather and popularize information to grow an understanding together. Plants and herbs are so powerful that together, we can learn and share our experiences and reconquer these techniques to restore a more natural world. Please leave me your opinion in the comments, and we can learn together. I am a big believer in herbs and nature and would love your opinion on herbal medicine.
