The actual cost of owning an espresso machine
These beauties on a counter are luxurious items that are not for everyone’s budget. We all know these machines are expensive. In addition to the cost of acquisition, there’s maintenance, and if you skip too many maintenance sessions, your espresso machine will break, and you will need to pay again. We all know that that cost adds up. I have to confess that in my lifetime, I bought two espresso machines. It was not a huge success! After our second machine went belly up, I decided to opt for a hassle-free Mr. Coffee, a drip coffee maker, which did the job for the last 6 years and is still running! Of course, we don’t have espresso anymore at home, but we now have the money to buy excellent coffee and pay for our kid’s college!
Also, every early morning, my lovely husband prepares the coffee, and it smells like heaven in the entire home when I wake up. I love that tradition and you can’t make it with an espresso machine!
What almond milk to use?
I will preach about the virtue of making your homemade almond milk because I make this recipe daily. The taste of homemade almond milk is far superior to anything you buy at regular grocery stores. I have written a whole blog about it if you want to try it yourself. That said, of course, you can use a store-bought version. The best almond milk for lattes would be unsweetened and unflavored, so you can control the flavor and sweetness level of your almond latte. I prefer unsweetened almond milk, but you can definitely use one that is sweetened or flavored, like vanilla almond milk.
How to switch your almond latte to a honey almond milk flat white?
Coffee shops love to publicize flat milk. If you like it better than a latte, it’s easy to do! Reduce the almond milk and add honey. A flat white is a strong coffee drink that typically consists of a single or double shot of coffee (in our case we’ll do one cup of strong coffee) topped with steamed milk and a thin layer of ‘microfoam’. It is similar to a latte but uses less milk, resulting in a stronger coffee flavor.
Are you ready to cool down and jazz up your coffee game?

Let’s whip up a deliciously refreshing iced almond milk latte that’s perfect for any day!
